After that last blog… (When I’ve cooled down, that is)

My anger towards my mother didn’t last long. It comes and it goes. The rest of the

day was actually quite interesting, and so ware the few days after that. By ‘interesting’ I

mean out of the ordinary. By ‘ordinary’ I mean days when my fat ass heats up the sofa from

watching TV too long. (Yup, that’s what I’ve been doing for most of my holidays. I’ve been

watching so much TV that I was even considering writing a blog about TV shows that I have

recently watched!)

Anyways, what happened on Friday was that workers came to fix our gate. (I don’t

feel like explaining what’s wrong with it.) While fixing it, they repainted it as well. And

can you guess what colour those colour-blind guys decided to colour it? Well, they opted for

a perky, peculiar, petrifying… PEACH!!! That’s right, PEACH! Other adjectives I’d use for

it are horrifying, horrid, hideous, ugly, out-of-place, not matching… I can’t think of

anymore, but you get the picture. After that, I went cycling with my friend. (By ‘cycling’ I

mean, I cycle to her house, we both cycle back to my house, she cycle back to her house…)

So, she saw my freshly-painted gate and seriously wanted to paint it! THAT’S how much it can

hurt your eyes.

The next day, I got a phone call to collect the new laptop. (I say ‘the’ because I’m

not sure who it belongs to yet, me or my father. In case you’re wondering, it’s an Acer

Aspire 5572. ‘m using it at the moment to type this blog.) So, my father and I went to

collect it. Actually, I just stayed in the car while my father went down to collect it from

the shop. My mother didn’t know that we bought a laptop at that time, but then ’someone’

pecah lobang by the time we got back. Anyway, after we collected it, my father drove around

town to the cafes with Wi-Fi for me to test the laptop. (I once asked my computer teacher

what ‘Wi-Fi’ stands for and she told me it’s like a Hi-Fi, which is an mp3 player or

something on the lines of that. She obviously has no idea what she’s talking about.) Later,

I went swimming with a friend, who moved to another school a few years ago, to catch up on

old times. That was fun. Then, at night, it was off to a cafe with Wi-Fi for my mother’s

first how-to-use-the-internet lesson. (That’s one of the reasons for getting the laptop.)

On Sunday, I went for an early morning jog with my mother and the maid. (I was

actally more of ‘fast walking’.) That was only due to not being able to sleep well the night

before and I just happened to be awake in time to watch the sunrise. I’d like to skip the

part of what happened during the ‘jog’. After not being able to sleep the previous night, I

feel asleep in the afternoon. Then, at night, we headed for another cafe with Wi-Fi for my

mother’s second lesson of how-to-use-the-internet.

Yesterday, I decided to test the rainwater for acid rain. I used the water from

boiling purple cabbage (or red cabbage,as some people call it) as an indicator. (Didn’t know

that, did you?) I’m pleased to inform those living in the Kuala Belait region that our rain

is not acidic. During most of the afternoon, I was helping out in designing name tags for

church camp. That was fun. I might be going back to help out again later. Then, at night, I

went online from the new laptop.

Those were my last few days. How are you doing? :)

‘Love Actually’ - the movie…

Hi! To ‘those’ wondering y I havn’t blogged in a while, to end the mystery, it’s coz I’ve used up the 8 + 16 hours of internet I’m suppose to use up this month. (Only my sisters would understand this.) So, y am I still blogging even wen it’s still November? Coz I just happen to be ‘forced’ online. (No offence to the ‘forcer’. I’m just joking!)

Moving on…

The other day I watched ‘Love Actually’. The info said that it’s a movie about 10 stories and I didn’t believe them coz I’ve watched it before and it didn’t seem like 10 stories. So, armed with a paper and a pencil, I listed down the stories as they appeared and I was right! There were only 8 stories! Here’s my list:

1) The story of a guy who went to America in search of a American girls.

2) The story of a girl who works in an office with a guy (who looks like a model) she has liked since she first started working there.

3) The story of a couple with a husband having an affair. (The wife is ‘Nanny McPhee’ while the husband is ‘the creepy teacher from Harry Potter’)

4) The story of a newly wed couple (Keira Knightly being the wife) where the husband’s bestfriend likes his wife.

5) The story of a singer who isn’t really a good role model. (I think the actor’s name is Bill Nighly, or something like that. He’s the creepy octopus-like creature in Pirates of the Carribean 2, the one with his heart torn out of him.)

6) The story of the Prime Minister who likes his Tea Lady (I think that’s what u call her)

7) The story of a stepfather and his stepson whose wife/mother has passed away and the stepson likes an American girl in his class.

8) The story of a writer who likes his Portugese maid.

Y, u might ask, am I listing this down? Tht’s coz I might be missing the last two stories. If u’ve watched ‘Love Actually’, please tell me the two missing stories. I don’t think that the info would lie about there being 10 stories…

Gtg now…I’m being asked to eat dinner…

A little update…

Hi! Another entry…

This time I’d like to blog about… Well, I haven’t a specific topic. Let’s just see what’s at the top of my mind…

I just watched Wendy Wu : Homecoming Warrior. I don’t see what’s so great about that Disney Channel had to advertise it 2 months before the TV premiere. I guess It’s just their job, since it IS a Disney Movie. It isn’t THAT interesting. For those who’d like to know what’s it about, read on…

There’s this girl, Wendy Wu, who’s life-long dream is to be the Homecoming Queen of her school. Then, one day, this Monk from China arrives at her doorstep and tells her it’s her destiny to save the world (or something like that). She doesn’t believe him at first, but eventually, she allows him to train her into a warrior. In the end, they defeat evil and they all live happily ever after… as do all Disney Movies. There are some things I’d like to comment about the movie. Like Wendy’s mother. If she was so uninterested about her Chinese culteure and the stories her mother told her as a child, how did she end up as a muzium curator? (if that is what the person in-chargee of artefacts in a muzium is called) And also, isn’t Brenda Song Korean, and not Chinese? At least, I thought she was Korean. Song sounds Korean, don’t you think? And also the Shen guy is Japanese, not Chinese. He could be Korean too, but his name sounds too mush like a Japanese name, though he speaks Chinese quite well. (He has to do that in one scene) I think the moral of the story is not to forget your own heritage, no matter where you are.

I’d also like to comment on how slow the internet connection is in Brunei. THe problem is either that or limewire, which I doubt considering that my sister who’s in KL can download songs at the speed of approximately 1 song/minute. It’s more like 1 song/hour here. It’s frustrating and I’d like TelBru to do something about it! The connection is not efficient enough!

What else is there worth mentioning about…

Hmm… I went to Jerudong Polo Club yesterday with my father for a Maybank Hari Raya makan something-something. The food wasn’t bad. There was Tandoori fish, which I’ve never seen or tasted before. For dessert, there was Sago with gula Melaka and Santan. (yum!) Then at night we went to the Serikandi house to eat. All I ate was Kebab and some goat meat. Then, we went home.

Today I made Coconut Candy! (I just drool at the thought…) I don’t know if there’ll be enough to last ’til when my sisters come back! (Which, I’m looking forward to!)

Well, there’s nothing else to say, unless you want me to mention my mother’s seriously swollen hand. It ain’t a pretty sight, that’s all I can say, although I haven’t seen the sore since it was bandaged, I think it is quite disgusting to see, according to my mother herself who’s seen it at the hospital when the nurse chaged the dressing.

*ehyuk, ehyuk, ehyuk* That’s all folks!

What I did yesterday & The Amazing Race Asia!!

Hey! It’s me again! (who else cuold it be? :s)

Just a few details on what I did yesterday…

Woke up around 9.30am and found Virgnia and her mother in our house… They came to take some of our unwanted things… While they were here, I painted a newspaper parrot that I made the night before… Now I have a new newspaper pet parrot! Then, let’s skip the boring part… I fell asleep around 5pm and woke up at 9.10pm, 10 minutes past the beginning of The Amazing Race Asia! I’d like to write a short review of the show…

First, I didn’t know that you could ‘jump down’ 8 floors in Berjaya Times Square… A new extreme sport that I’d like to try once I’m old enough… (I’d also like to go rock climbing at One Utama, once I’m old enough, again) Let’s see… What else is there to talk about… Oh ya, isn’t it ironic that the most ‘tough-looking’ competitors who look like they work out at the gym everyday end up being the last at the pitstop? And the team that looked the most physically unfit turns out to be the winner in the first leg of the race? They’re Indon lagi. Not they’re home country, and they STILL can win. I thought that a Malaysian team (there’s two) would’ve won. That couple lah, didn’t read the instructions properly! And that Chinese girl who doesn’t even know how to count up to four properly! THe Malaysian teams are not ‘proper’ enough! Hehe… jk. I thought that for the detour, choosing between making batik cloth and making a pot, more teams would choose the pot-making. If I were in one of the teams, I’d choose the pot, coz I know how time consuming painting can be… It turns out that most of them chose the batik painting task instead. Only one team, if I’m not mistaken, made the pot. I didn’t even know that pot-making was popular in Malaysia! That shows how much I know about my own country! I wonder where the teams will go next… Philippines? Singapore? Hong Kong? Maybe even Brunei, but I doubt that… It’s just a too small country! Not much to do… Not far to travel… Anyone else wached The Amazing Race Asia? Feel free to type what you think about the first show as a comment in my blog! Till next time, Au Revoir! (What I did today ain’t too interesting, plus I don’t feel like blogging ’bout it!) I can’t wait to watch Wendy Wu, to find out what’s so nice about it! Perhaps I’d blog about it too, if I think it’s worth blogging about, that is.

About me… and what I’ve done recently

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!

Actually, I typed out something else before, but I changed my mind about posting it up…

Anyway, here’s a little info about me…

I’m a fifteen-year-old girl living in Kuala Belait who was abandoned by her two elder sisters… (jk!) They actually went to KL and Singapore to further their studies… They were the ones who made me start this blog… (contrary to what my profile says, I’m not eighteen! I just changed it to eighteen  coz people below eighteen years of age aren’t allowed to create a blog… How unfair! :p)
Back to talking about me… I recently finished my PMB exams (Form 3 public exams in Brunei). I’m aiming at getting 8 A’s… My father says that if I get 6 A’s, he’ll buy a laptop. So good, oh? But it’s not actually for me alone… He said he’ll BUY a laptop… Nothing about it being mine… But I still get to use it, ofcourse…
The end of this year is kinda sad coz a few of my classmates will be tranferring to another school… Good for them coz my school ain’t that good anyway… In fact, I actually hate it, eventhough they’re giving me a scholarship. What an ingrate…
What else is there to say about me… hmm… I like to make handicrafts, particularly Art Attacks. Anything that appears on his show looks so fun and interesting to make! What else… I spend most of my time watching TV and crocheting (like a grandma, my big sis would say).Crocheting is like knitting, only that it’s with a hook and not two needles. Recently I have been designing and making clothes for my old Barbie dolls. Perhaps I could sell them and get rich. $_$ Hehe… What can I say? I just love making things with my hands… Or rather, using my hands to make things… Same difference!
I also like to watch TV. Crocodile Hunter and Art Atack are my favourite shows. I have a crazy dream of being able to hug an orang utan (or a koala). Hey, dreams are MEANT to be crazy!
Ok, now the part about what I’ve done recently, about my life now. I’m currently on holiday… waiting for my PMB results. I’m going online nearly everyday, so I mine (or was it mind, i dunno!) as well start blogging… While most of those who did their PMB exams this year are up early in the morning to go to work, I’m up at around 10-11am, and the first thing I do is watch TV. I’m not allowed to work! You can’t blame me!
Fo the past two days, I’ve been making Art Attacks with my friend, Hannah. On Monday we made a Dustbin Pencil Sharpener (go to: www.artattack.co.uk), then yesterday, she made an X-ray of a fat cat while I made a Horse Notice Board. That was fun…
Well, that’s all for now. See ya soon! Don’t forget to post a comment or two. I’d like to know what others think of my life. Thanks! :)
