Sleep…

I’ve been getting too much on some nights, and too little on others. And It’s not like I’ve been up studying all night, I just can’t seem to fall asleep. And when I do, I make the most of it by sleeping 10-12 hours. On nights when I have exam the next day, that just can’t be done, so I end up sleeping only for only 4-6 hours.

That may sound extreme, but there are people worse off than me. A friends of mine actually gets 4 hrs of sleep a night (if I’m not mistaken). And according to E!, Justin Chamebers (Alex Karev on Grey’s Anatomy) only got 2 hrs a night. Even worse, Heath Ledger, before he passed, had 2 hrs of sleep a week. My stats may be a bit off, but it’s around those figures. At least I myself can get enough sleep in a week, if not in a day.

I blame the irregular timings of the ‘O’ Level examinations for my irregular sleep. Next week, and the week after, my exams will be 3-4 days in a row. I hope I can get my sleeping pattern fixed before that.

Hopeful..

Do you believe in astrology?

I don’t really take it too seriously, but I notice that it’s often true.

I checked my compatibility with my crush… it sounds like the perfect match!

I could be in over my head in expecting anything to happen, but who knows?

Anthing can happen, right? :)

My Love Life…

… or rather lack therof.

To quote a friend’s MSN personal message, i have a “life lack o’ love”.

i have had compliments from a guy or two my age. actually, one was a hidden compliment, not intended. it was from a friend on msn who said tht i “wasn’t that pretty”. at first glance, it would sound like an insult, but he did say not that pretty, which means that i am, just not very. am i making sense here? the conversation was about me cycling to his house alone. i said,”what if i get kidnapped or raped?” he said,”ur not tht pretty anyway.” so, it wasn’t a compliment, but i’m taking it as one. :p anyway, the second was left on my friendster profile as a comment (or was it testimonial?). it said “it’s easy to remember a pretty face like urs ;-)”. a girl never forgets compliments like those! And there was that time in primary 6 a classmate sent me a “love note” which i shreded to pieces once i finished reading. i avoided him at all costs ’til i found out he was over me. phew.

to sum it up, right now, my current relationship status remains “never had a boyfriend, don’t currently have one, but would like one in the near future”. in short, single. any takers? none? i thought so.

I am kinda pissed off at how my last post that I typed out online somehow didn’t appear on my blog. Then again, I did say some rather embarrassing things in it, which I will not say again. Since that experience, I have learnt to always type out my posts offline, save it, then go online and post it, like I used to do.
[Note: After typing this and going online, I discovered that my post was saved under drafts for some unknown reason. I have not decided whether to post it, editing out certain details.]

I have officially turned seventeen! I am now old. :( Or should I say old enough? I haven’t quite decided yet, but I am leading towards old enough, for obvious reasons. I am now old enough to get a driver’s license in Malaysia, old enough to bring in alcohol to Singapore (according to the form I had to fill when I last went there), and old enough for college guys. I am already planning to celebrate my 18th birthday at Clark Quay (pronounced “kee”) in Singapore. It’s an area with lots of bars and restaurants serving alcoholic drinks. I thought it quite apt for my 18th birthday, as 18 is the legal age to drink. Let’s see if my che-che Debbie will bring me there…

My last post was regarding my non-existent “love life”. Unfortunately, I have remained single since the day I was born. I have had someone have a crush on me, but I’m glad he’s over me right now. Speaking of crushes, I actually have one at the moment, although I think he’s just the face I put on my idea of the perfect guy. I think it has only been 6 months. He doesn’t know, but I have told a couple of friends, and somehow that led to a bunch of other people knowing, so at this rate, he’ll find out soon. I’m actually not too worried about that. Better than me telling him myself, that’s for sure.

What I am slightly worried about is my GCE ‘O’ Levels, which are slowly creeping up. I have been an outstanding student since primary level, so there’s not much reason to worry, but still, I can’t help it. And I am worried about what I’ll do after the ‘O’ Levels. I haven’t decided on a career path, but I have some general ideas on what I’d like to do, and what I don’t want to end up doing. Accordint to my horoscope, “Careers that involve justice such as police officer, lawyer, or judge are excellent choices for Libra. They will also succeed at such occupations as diplomat, civil servant, interior decorator, composer, and fashion designer.” What stands out to me in that list is Interior Decorator and Fashion Designer, although that would be a waste of my knowledge in science. I’m also interested in Architecture/Structural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Biotechnology. Careers that I have ruled out completely include Lawyer, Accountant, Medical Professionals (I am against modern medicine), Politician, and Businesswoman (or anything related to business, for that matter). I will not be part of the home team, which include careers like firemen, policemen, soldiers, and paramedics. So, I guess that kind of narrows it down, doesn’t it?

Well,  I gotta go. My mum’s calling me for dinner.

My week

So…
The past week has been rather exciting…
Well, for me, at least…
Where should I begin…?

Ok, so my sister were back for their semester break. n their 6 wks were up, so they had to go back… :( That was Monday, 4th Aug, btw. it was fun when they were around. they pitched in with the housework. n i always came up with the excuse that i had school… :) i managed to teach them some new things too. Tricia - how to play the piano (she actually only wanted to learn one song. It’s a Twilight thing) n Debbie - how to crochet. Don’t go asking them to play in recitals n make u a scarf just yet. i haven’t gone that far with them yet. Their still beginners.

n coz my dad had to go away on a business trip the same day, they left my mother n I alone at home. It’s not like my mother n I don’t have a good relationship or whatever, but there r just times where u can’t stand each other.

so anyway… i had been waking up early to make my own breakfst (which is Milo btw, n no, their not paying me to mention their name) n walking to school (it’s not a big deal… school’s less than 0.5 km away) n walking back from school…

where was i going with this… oh yeah, on Wednesday night, I was sent to deliver something to a friend’s door. My mother drove there, n all i had to do was get out of the car, walk to do the door, ring the bell, n pass the object. simple enough? yeah… if there wasn’t an innocent-looking dog guarding the house! i say innocent-looking coz i was planning to walk straight pass it when i saw it. n u know what it did? it barked at me. n not just any scared dog bark, but a full howl. i turned around n headed straight for the car, hoping i wasn’t running n that it wasn’t following me. in the car, i started to laugh… n then i started to cry like someone died. who cries when barked at by a dog? that was strange…

n then the next day… well, if u mention "the debate" to any of my 16 classmates they’ll surely know what ur talking about, although u may not. Let’s save that story for another blog…

n on Friday… the Olympics!!! Our school General Studies department organized their first "Amazing Race". Teams comprised of two Form 3 students n two Form 5 students. We were asked to wear red, green , blue n yellow shirts to represent our team. i was yellow, the colour of sunshine on a cloudy day… anyway, our tasks included a brain teaser, searching the school for folded paper (around the school compound only), answering the History/Commerce/Geography questions inside, counting the number of doors in the school (84!), n completing one face of a rubiks cube. that was like the best school activity i had ever joined! although our team was handicapped by 1 person (who was late n decided to show up in a cowboy hat, sunglasses n tourists shorts with a camera hung over his neck) we still manged to end up in 1st place! it was a team effort. we enjoyed it so much that we didn’t even realize that we had no prize… hahaha…

on Saturday, my dad came back… using a ticket i had booked online for him. that was a cool experience on its own. before that, we had a cleaning lady come over. her name’s auntie Nati, which suits her coz she’s slightly nutty, in a good way. after she helped us with all the dust around the house, i decided to rearrange my room, which was previously where my sisters were sleeping when they were back. I’ve got a pic, too.

n Yesterday (Tuesday) something amazing happened! I got a guitar! I asked my dad for it, n i got it! after like… 3 days! it’s brown, well more like orange, acoustic. my friend, Hannah (she’s one of my featured friends) thought me the basics (actually i only remember 3 chords, A, D & E). i’m planning to take lessons from another friend (Mr. Jiggly) who asked me to get it (this friend is strange, I know) after my ‘O’ Levels. n in return i’m gonna teach him to play the piano. sounds like a good deal, eh?

so… u know what i realized… that i hadn’t watch much tv in that past week. it looks like tv deprives us of having a life. haha…

Also, i’m kinda into the Beijing Olympics these days… if u’ve watched the documentaries n seen the mascots (Fuwa! I <3 Jingjing!) u’d be into it too. That’s all for now. Peace out.

What I’ve Done…

…since my last post.

hmm… I had my final exams. My results were satisfactory, though my Physics/Chemistry teacher was not satisfied. He said something like,"For average students, that is good. But for students like you we expect better results." Alright, alright, I’ll do better next time. It’s not like it’s ‘O’ Levels…

Now onto more lighter topics… holiday!!! My holiday was filled with late nights, long hours of sleep, hours of Astro and junk food! I must’ve put on at least a few pounds from that. I call that my holiday weight.

On the 15th I went to Miri to pick up my sisters from the airport. I have been enjoying my time with them since then. I had to make room for them i my bedroom. I just realized that we only have a week more til they have to go back n i have to go back to school. it’s kinda sad, but at least we’ll spend the time we have left more wisely.

For Christmas we had a small party in our house. The three sisters plus Sharon were the organizers. Sharon was at our house for so long until she started to call my father "Papa" too… haha. The games were wacky. We had lots of laughs. There were pictures and videos to prove it, but we haven’t uploaded them.

Speaking of videos… My father found a whole stack of home videos of his three little angels. hehe… We have been watching them like tv shows since then. Some them r really interesting.

Well, gotta go now… my eyes r getting tired… til next post, ciao!

Pictures…

I just uploaded a couple of pictures into my lap top and thought I should post them in my blog.

Img_0157Img_0158
That’s a 500 Brunei dollar bill. It was the first time my sister had seen one, so she decided to take a picture of it with my face it in the background. We were in a bank.

That’s the Raleigh bike we won for a Lucky draw during the NBT treasure hunt. I rode it, like once then never again. My mum wanted to sell it, but my sister protested. It’s now sitting in my house.

Img_0202_1That’s a mock check i got for writing as essay about energy conservation. It says $200. No, I’m not required to bring that thing to the bank to cash it. They gave a smaller one which is actually valid. According to them, 1st runner-up is third place. Strange people…

Img_0204
That’s a CD mobile I made out of old/rosak CD-Rs I found in the house which seem to be useless. Not any more!

Well, that’s all for now. My mum is calling me to eat ‘Penang Kway Teow’. Mothers…

Holidays…

What better way to  waste, I mean spend the holidays than to blog all the way…
(Excuse me, I’m just really bored. I have some work to do, but I don’t know where to start, so I’m not doing it.)

I’m thinking of cutting my fringe, like it was long before, but I wanted to know how I’d look like first. So, I edited one of my pictures using photoshop.
2fringeI know, I look like I’m some sort of alien from out of this planet, so  I’m sticking to my current hairstyle. Unless any of you people think otherwise. Well, I don’t think I will necessarily listen to you, but I’d like to know what you think, so please leave a comment. Even if you don’t have anthing to say about it, just post a comment saying exactly that. I want to know how many of you have seen this hairstyle.

Besides the hair issue, I’d like to say that my sister will be coming this Saturday! Bringing goodies from Singapore! Haha… Tht’s not the ONLY reason I’m happy she’s coming… I’d get to show her my new room in my new house. And also she’d be bringing me out of my boredom during the hols. Or I’d be bringing her into my world of boredom… bwahaha… at least I won’t be spending d hols alone.

Before I go, I’d like you people to visit mtvswitch.org and join me in saving the planet. Thanks!

A poem is it?

Hey everybody! I stumbled upon this poem a few weeks ago. Tell me what you think of it…

Teachers

Some teachers are round,
while others are thin.
Some teachers are funny,
while others don’t even grin.
They’re different in many ways,
though their goal is the same.
(Although they sometimes
forget our names!)
To teach us all sorts
of interesting things.
And make us better
human beings.

I did stumble upon it! In my head! :p
I think the English is too primary level…
What do you think??

A New Year…

Happy New Year to all!

This year is a little special for me since I have just begun upper secondary. I’m in the

science stream and I think I’m ‘destined’ to be there. Ever since I was younger, I have been

doing all sorts of science experiments. I have a very inquisitive mind, always wanting to

know more about this world we live in. Besides that, my sisters were also in the science

strem, so it’s only appropriate that I follow in their footsteps.

I’m really excited about being in the science stream and doing experiments in the lab

(which, by the way, is currently being renovated - it’s like they’re fixing it up for me!

:p). I can’t wait to get my hands on all the lab equipment! It’s like I’m a mad scientist!

Bwahahaha!!!

Let’s take a look at my teachers this year…

Mdm Teo (B. Melayu) - My friend says she looks like me. I don’t see how! She makes the class

laugh quite often with her funny ways of telling stories.

Tchr Leo (English) - He has a pot belly. Talks a lot. Kinda OK teacher.

Tchr Rose (D. Maths) - She taught us Maths too last year. It’s kinda hard to understand what

she teaches, but I can manage.

Tchr Deepa (A .Maths, class teacher-DJ) - She has big eyes. Once, she got angry at one of my

classmates and I thought her eyes would pop out any second! She’s quite strict, but all

teachers should be anyway.

Cikgu Wan (P. O. A.) - She taught us Commercial Studies last year. Likes to say
(after she teaches us something), "Remember this ’til you die."

Tchr Rama (Chemistry, Physics) - It’s like he’s always so ‘kelam kabut’. Makes the lessons

seem easy.

Tchr Rodman (Biology) - He tought us Maths in Form 2. He teaches us with a very loud voice.

It’s lie he’s scolding us. He often reminds us that he’s not, though. He does that to

prevent us from falling asleep during his class.

I’m actually quite happy and confident with these teachers. I think that with a little

effort on my part, I can get straight A’s for every exam!

This year, I’m planning on being a more active student by joining in more school activities,

and not necessarily competitions. I wanna keep myself as busy as possible!

That’s all folks!
